The Pro Snares Difference

Most of the snares on the market today are simply assembled components with little labor invested and often with lesser grade parts.  Like traps today that are modified after market, these snares too are modified to best help them perform at peak efficiency. Every snare I manufacture is individually hand-crafted with utmost precision.  Each snare is Loaded, Shaped, Tuned and Pre-fired to ensure they close easy, smooth and fast!

As with traps that are designed for a specific animal to have the best results, these snares are also designed to target a specific animal for that same purpose.  Snares that are designed species specific perform the best netting you the greatest results.

It is my aim to get you the best snares the market can offer you that are line ready with no additional modifications needed.  I don't use inferior annealed swivels or smashed nuts as stops.  I use Heavy Duty galvanized swivels that are from 12 gauge to 9 gauge that I manufacture myself for quality control.  All ends are machine compressed with customized commercial stops for optimum adhesion & strength.  Snare crafting is as art that I enjoy and hope you find these snares to your satisfaction!

Custom Snares

Regardless of the state you are in, I can design snares or cable restraints
that are legal there. I can add break-a-way devices (BAD's), deer stops,
limit stops or swivels. I use a variety of cable in the 1x19 or 7x7 lay and
sizes from 3/64" up to 1/8" in diameter. In case you are not familiar
with the snare laws of your state, I can review them for you. I also
make snares for several other animals that are not listed. If you have a
specific snare design you want me to make, I can do that for you. If you
like a current model of snare I design, but would like to order changes like
a different lock, different cable, different length, deer stops or break-a
-ways added, I can do that for you.

What is a Loaded Snare?

A loaded snare has gone through a process that establishes a memory in the
snare loop's cable that enables it to open to a nice round loop, close easier,
smoother & faster!

Advantages of a Loaded Snare

Snares that are loaded properly close much easier, smoother and faster than
snares that are not. Loaded snares snap shut! This will increase your neck
catch ratio, reduce your misses and increase your overall catch statistics.
Loaded snares not only increase your neck catch ratio, but also reduce or
eliminate the number of body, gut or hip catches which also helps reduce
the possibilities of fur damage. While snares on the animal's body, like with
coon or beaver, may be ok with the right snare rig, it is not an ideal location
for most furbearers. Loaded snares start to close easier, thus the animal
doesn't feel the resistance which may get it to back out of the loop or
try and step through... which promotes gut catches or complete misses.

Disadvantages of Snares NOT Loaded

Snares that are NOT loaded have a tendency to have drag as they close.
This drag makes a snare close slower. Often this drag creates friction and
resistance an animal can feel, which leads to the animal wanting to lift
his leg through this perceived obstacle. By doing this, it creates a situation
for more body catches or the animal backing clear out of the snare. A piece
of cable bent wants to straighten itself... which means it wants to spring open,
not spring closed! Neck caught animals reduce the possibility of fur damage
as an animal may if body caught. Snares NOT loaded also hang droopy or
tear-drop shape and takes more cable length to get the desired loop size.
More cable means the animal must drag the snare further to close the loop all
the way shut. Loaded snares snap shut while snares NOT loaded need to be
dragged all the way until closed.
